FEMM produces three different families of rings primarily used for jars and containers, with different functions:
- Guarantee rings;
- Safety rings;
- Resealable rings.
Guarantee Rings
Guarantee rings, also known as seals, ensure the end consumer that the container has not been opened. These rings are made of painted tinplate, with a thickness of 0.30 mm, and are available in gold (doré) or white to meet the various marketing needs of packaging manufacturers. Among various uses, they are ideal for ice cream concentrate containers. They are closed with pliers similar to those used for crimped lids or through rolling.
Safety Rings
Safety rings are approved for the transport of hazardous substances, providing an economical alternative to traditional lever rings (ties). More specifically, this type of ring drastically reduces common problems due to frequent liquid spills on transporters' floors. Unlike traditional ties, which do not offer guaranteed leak-proof seals, these rings also pass drop tests, ensuring retention even under extreme stress conditions and preventing product leakage. They are not reusable and can be automatically closed, eliminating the need for manual intervention, through an economical rolling machine, reducing labor costs.
Resealable Rings
Resealable rings are the novelty in the world of metal packaging. They combine the functionality of ties with the advantages of safety rings, allowing the closure process of containers to be automated and reducing labor costs. Made of galvanized steel, the resealable rings are available in customizable thicknesses (0.8 / 1.0 mm) according to customer needs.
